Florida State University Equestrian Club and Teams

Teams

Our club is made up of three different teams- hunt seat, western, and dressage.  Below you will find a brief description of each team and a list of their recent accomplishments

Western:
The Western Team is coached by Jean Anthony.  Their home barn is Lazy Triangle D (located on Proctor Road). The western team competes in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association horse shows across the Southeastern US in horsemanship and reining events.  During the 2015-2016 show season, the western team was second in the region for the year.  The team co-captain, Ellen Waidner, also took home the high point rider title for the year, placed 4th at Semi Finals, and advanced to Nationals where she placed 8th.  Outside of riding and competitions, the western team is a tight-knit group of friends who spend time together on a daily basis.

Hunt Seat:
The Hunt Seat Team is coached by Rob Billings out of Little Pond Farm (5290 Crump Rd.).  The hunt seat team competes in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association horse shows throughout the Southeastern US in equitation on the flat and equitation over fences events.  During the 2015-2016 show season, the hunt seat team was fourth in the region for the year and sent one rider to Nationals.

Dressage:
The Dressage Team is coached by Marsha Sapp out of Southern Oaks Equestrian.  The dressage team competes in Intercollegiate Dressage Association horse shows in Florida.  During the 2015-2016 show season the dressage team sent two riders to Nationals.
